Bindi Irwin's husband Chandler Powell has revealed he has had to have surgery in hospital.
The wakeboarder, 25, took to Instagram on Thursday to reveal he had been hospitalised with tonsillitis and had to have them removed.
Sharing a snap from his hospital bed, a slightly peaky Chandler thanked his "amazing" wife Bindi, 24, for staying at his bedside, while his mother-in-law Terri cares for their daughter Grace, one.
He wrote: "Just wanted to write a note to my amazing wife, I had to get my tonsils out and she has been taking the best care of me. I’m so lucky to be loved by you, @bindisueirwin.
"Also, thank you Bunny (my awesome mum-in-law) for taking care of Grace while we’ve been in the hospital and I’ve been recovering."
Bindi replied: "Sweetheart, always always always here for you. Being married to you is the very best and I’m so proud of you."
Fans took to the comment section to share their well wishes.
One wrote: "Getting your tonsils out is AWFUL! Eat some ice cream."
Another added: "I've heard getting tonsils out as an adult is really painful. Lucky you have great family to look after you."
A third fan chimed: "wishing you a speedy recovery".
The couple welcomed Grace into the world on March 25 last year - which is the same day that they celebrated their first wedding anniversary, having tied the knot in 2020.
Her birth was announced on social media at the time, with Bindi commenting that their daughter "chose the perfect day to be born," adding: "We feel tremendously blessed."
The couple decided to name their first child Grace Warrior Irwin Powell, with the reasons behind these choices explained by Bindi in the post announcing her daughter's arrival.
She said that Grace is named after her great-grandmother as well as relatives in Chandler's family dating back centuries. Bindi then revealed the reason for the middle names.
These are in recognition of Bindi's late father, with her stating: "Her middle names Warrior Irwin, are a tribute to my dad and his legacy as the most incredible wildlife warrior."
