Bindi Irwin’s husband has penned a gushing tribute to his wife after being hospitalised with tonsilitis.
Chandler Powell, 25, has taken to social media to praise Irwin, 24, for taking the “best care” of him as he recovered.
Alongside a sweet selfie snapped of the couple, Powell also explained that their daughter was being taken care of by Irwin’s mum, Terri Irwin.
“Just wanted to write a note to my amazing wife,” Powell began on Instagram.
“I had to get my tonsils out and she has been taking the best care of me. I’m so lucky to be loved by you, @bindisueirwin.
He added: “Also, thank you Bunny (my awesome mum-in-law) for taking care of Grace while we’ve been in the hospital and I’ve been recovering.”
The wakeboarder’s post has quickly been inundated with supportive messages from friends and fans wishing him a speedy recovery.
One follower wrote: “Get well soon!! I heard getting your tonsils out as an adult is worse than when you’re a kid. I still have mine.”
Another added: “You two are seriously the sweetest and most beautiful couple for so many reasons.”
Irwin is the eldest child of late animal conservationist Steve Irwin.
It hasn’t been an easy week for the family after they revealed their echidna had passed away. Irwin explained in a touching tribute that their beloved “family member” had been with them for 38 years.
“Saying goodbye to our beautiful family member of 38 years. The sweetest, kindest, most wonderful echidna you ever did meet. Rest In Peace, angel,” she wrote earlier this week.
Irwin and Powell, who first met at Australia Zoo, have been married since 2020. The pair revealed at the time that they’d tied the knot in a low-key ceremony hours before Australia banned weddings with more than five guests amid the pandemic.
In 2021, the happy couple welcomed their first child together, Grace Warrior Irwin Powell.
