As the Christmas period approaches council workers across Neath Port Talbot and Bridgend will be preparing themselves for one of the busiest periods in their calendar year, as festive celebrations disrupt the usual flow of services.
From food waste and recycling, to general collections and nappies, there will be a number of changes to both authorities usual collection dates when it comes to waste this Christmas.
We have listed the revised collection days in both local authorities below.

Bridgend
Collections will be carried out as normal on Friday, December 23. There will be no collections on Saturday, December 24 (Christmas Eve) Sunday, December 25 (Christmas Day) or Monday, December 26 (Boxing Day).
Collections due the week of December 26 will be collected one day later than usual until they return to normal from Monday, January 2. Residents can put out an extra waste bag for their first refuse collection after Christmas Day.
Kier will also have an additional vehicle out to collect extra cardboard – if yours isn’t collected with other recycling the crew will come back to collect it later.
Neath Port Talbot
In Neath Port Talbot normal collection rounds will resume on Monday, January 2, however the revised collection dates will go ahead over the Christmas period as follows.
