Christmas, bank holidays, New Year, they all throw out the bin collection dates and with all the extra packaging that the festive season brings it is important to know when our rubbish will be collected. To make life easier, Nottinghamshire Live has put together the rejigged dates that have been released so far by councils across Nottingham and the county.
Gedling Borough Council
Gedling Borough Council says that there are a small number of changes to its bin collection days over Christmas and the New Year. Requesting the bins are placed out by 6am, it adds that collection teams will also take extra bags of black bin waste over the festive period and extra recycling, if left in cardboard boxes next to your bin.

Mansfield District
Changes to households in Mansfield district whose collections fall on Mondays will have their waste collected two days earlier than usual over the Christmas holiday because of the way the bank holidays fall. People whose blue bins and glass bins are due to be emptied on Boxing Day (Monday 26 December), will now have them emptied on Christmas Eve (Saturday 24 December).
Green bin and glass bin collections that are due on Monday 2 January, which is the New Year's Day Bank Holiday, will take place instead on New Year's Eve (Saturday 31 December).
All other Mansfield District Council bin collections over Christmas and New Year, including those scheduled for the Christmas Day Bank Holiday on Tuesday 27 December, will go ahead as usual.
A spokesperson for the council said that bin crews will always take side waste when emptying the recycling bin as long as it is presented in a cardboard box or paper bag alongside the blue bin.
With an eye of additional packaging, crews will also take one bin bag of side waste along with the first general waste bin collection after Christmas. The bag should be securely tied and presented at the kerbside next to the green bin.
Ashfield Council
On your first general waste collection after Christmas, Ashfield Council will be collecting one additional bag of general waste to help with any extra waste generated over the festive season. Please leave the extra bag alongside your red lidded bin.
