A TikTok star who is facing jail for stalking Scotland star Billy Gilmour claimed she was banned from Asda after dancing half-naked in a store. Orla Melissa Sloan pleaded guilty earlier this week to targeting the midfielder as well as his former Chelsea FC teammates Mason Mount and Ben Chilwell.
Gilmour, 21, said he was left ‘panicked’ and taking sleeping pills after the twisted stalker claimed to have fallen pregnant - despite them never having an intimate relationship.
The Mirror reports that Sloan, who used the name ‘Devil Baby’ in some of her chilling messages to the footballers, claimed she was handed a lifetime ban from Asda after she appeared in her underwear in the bakery aisle of the supermarket.
A now-deleted TikTok video showed the 21-year-old posing half-naked in animal-themed outfit along with a friend dressed as Tiger King star Joe Exotic. Other customers can be seen walking past as the pair start to perform a provocative dance routine.
A caption on the video read: "Got a lifetime ban from Asda... was it worth it?"
Sloan slept with Mason Mount in November 2020 after meeting at a party at Ben Chilwell's house before beginning a six-month relationship. After this ended, the court heard that she changed her phone number 21 times in order to keep bombarding Mount with messages after he blocked her.
Mount was "concerned she had an obsession or fixation with him and he didn't know what she was capable of", saying: "Miss Sloan knows roughly where I live and where I train. I'm worried that if she is unable to contact me she might turn up at my training centre."
Prosecutor Jason Seetal said: “Following the party at Mr Chilwell’s he had received contact with the defendant on Instagram requesting whether Mr Gilmour minded contacting her directly. Given he had met her at Mr Chilwell’s, Mr Gilmour said he could.
“He began to receive messages asking about Mr Mount, shortly after deciding he didn’t want any further contact with Miss Sloan.”
The prosecutor said Gilmour was contacted by Sloan from around July last year with the nature of the messages similar to those received by Mount, while his family and friends were also tagged in some.
The court heard in one she claimed to have fallen pregnant and in another said: “Billy has done multiple girls behind my back.” Mr Seetal said: “Mr Gilmour was never in an intimate relationship with Miss Sloan. Those comments are entirely fictitious.”
The court heard Gilmour, who had changed clubs, was in a place he didn’t know so “felt more isolated from friends and family.” “He raised concerns with his club which put safety measures in place,“ said Mr Seetal.
Gilmour said in a statement he experienced “feelings of panic” from the messages from a woman he said he had “met once for a brief period of time”. “I exchanged a few messages with her but I was never in a relationship with her and never wanted one,” he said.
The court heard Gilmour changed his phone number and the name of his private Instagram account. He added that her messages had a "huge impact" on his life after he joined Brighton from Chelsea in September last year.
He said: “I have not been able to sleep and have had to take sleeping tablets,"It's had a negative effect on my performance and professional life. Being in a new town where I don't have my friends or family, it's really upsetting.“
Sloan, from Exeter, pleaded guilty to causing "serious alarm or distress" by stalking Mr Gilmour between September 10 and October 28 last year at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.
She also admitted stalking Mount between June 19 and October 28 last year, as well as causing harassment to Chilwell between October 20 and October 29, 2022.
District Judge Neeta Minhas adjourned sentencing to June 20 for reports to be prepared, telling her the most serious offence, against Gilmour, crossed the custody threshold.
