Billy Gilmour had his Chelsea contract extended and that will see him remain at the Stamford Bridge club until 2024.
The Scotland star made the move to London from Rangers in 2017 and broke into the Blues’ first team under Frank Lampard.
He made his top team debut back in 2019 and was rewarded with a new four-year contract, which Chelsea on Monday confirmed has been extended for a further two years.
Gilmour spent last season on loan at Norwich, but couldn’t prevent the Canaries being relegated back to the Championship.
He even came under fire from his own fans during a defeat to Crystal Palace earlier this year.
Another loan move could be on the cards, with the 21-year-old not featuring as regularly under Thomas Tuchel.
And Steve Clarke will be keen for the midfielder to get regular first team football after establishing himself as a key member of the Scotland squad over the last year.
