Jacksonville Jaguars general manager Trent Baalke did a bit of maneuvering in the first round last week, moving down twice before picking offensive tackle Anton Harrison at No. 27 overall.
According to Buffalo Bills general manager Brandon Beane, trading with Baalke wasn’t exactly easy.

“So Trent Baalke, their GM, he says ‘you’re going to have to tell me who you’re taking,'” Beane recounted in a conversation with former NFL player Chris Long on his “Green Light” podcast. “I was like ‘Well Trent, I don’t necessarily want to tell you who I’m taking.’ He’s like ‘Well, we’re going to have to figure some way or the other, because if I don’t know that you’re not taking my guy, I’m not moving back.
“And so then he goes, ‘Offense or defense?’ And I said ‘Offense.’ And he goes, ‘Alright, I need more.’ So then he goes, ‘Big or small?’ I said, ‘Medium.’ He goes, ‘Are you taking a tight end?’ And I said, ‘Yeah.’ And he goes, ‘All right, let me call you right back.'”
Eventually, Baalke agreed to a trade with Beane that only took seconds to finalize.

The Jaguars moved down two spots in the first round and received a fourth-round pick in return. Buffalo used the newly acquired selection to pick tight end Dalton Kincaid, while the Jaguars landed their guy at No. 27.
