Bill Giles, Philadelphia Phillies owner and executive, died at the age of 92. He rose from a Philadelphia Phillies business executive to become an owner and CEO. He passed away on Friday (September 25, 2026) at his home in Gladwyne, Pennsylvania, the team said in a statement.
According to the team statement, Giles was “once called the P.T. Barnum of baseball because he tried just about anything to get people to the ballpark.” A son of former National League president Warren Giles, Giles started with the team in 1969 as vice president, business operations, and was promoted to executive vice president three years later.
