Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots mutually parted ways on Thursday, and the expectation is that he plans to continue coaching. Several teams could have interest in Belichick, including the Atlanta Falcons.
This was reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Belichick leaves New England after 24 seasons and 296 wins with the organization. He could provide structure to a Falcons team that finished the 2023 season with a 7-10 record.
This could be an interesting move for both parties, as the Falcons look to have their first winning season since 2017. They parted ways with head coach Arthur Smith on Monday.
Bill Belichick will want to continue coaching and is expected to draw interest from at least some of the other seven NFL teams that currently have head coach vacancies, quite possibly the Atlanta Falcons, per league sources.

Meanwhile, the Patriots will begin their coaching search, which could include a number of potential candidates. NBC Sports Boston’s Tom E. Curran recently expressed belief that Jerod Mayo will end up with the job.
Of course, there are other options out there, like Mike Vrabel, and possibly even Michigan’s Jim Harbaugh. A new era for the Patriots is nearly upon us.
