A biker who died in a horror crash with a HGV in South Lanarkshire earlier this month has been named.
John Morrison, from Whitburn, passed away after his Honda motorbike collided with a lorry on the A702.
The incident took place around 6.40pm on Monday June 6 near the village of Elsrickle.
Emergency crews raced to the scene but the 45-year-old was tragically pronounced dead upon arrival.
The 40-year-old driver of the HGV did not require hospital treatment.
A report has been forwarded to the Procurator Fiscal.
Police Scotland have since launched an investigation into the smash to establish the exact circumstances of the incident.
As part of their enquiries, officers wish to speak to a minibus driver who stopped at the scene to help soon after the crash took place.
In general, anyone with any information on what happened is being urged to get in touch.
Sergeant Andy Currie from the Road Policing Unit at Motherwell said: “Our thoughts remain with Mr Morrison’s family and friends.
“Enquiries continue into the cause of this crash and I would again urge anyone who witnessed this crash or who has any information that may assist us to come forward.
"We are keen to speak to the driver of a minibus that stopped at the scene shortly after the crash happened and provided assistance.
"The bus was heading to Edinburgh and I would urge the driver to contact us as soon as possible as he may hold information that will assist our investigation.
“We would also ask anyone driving on the A702 in the Elsrickle area before the crash took place to contact us.”
