A motorcyclist has tragically died after being involved in a crash with a car in Angus. Emergency services were called to the scene on the B961 in Monikie at around 8.50pm on Tuesday.
A 48-year-old had been riding a black BMW R1150 GS motorcycle which collided with an MG5 electric vehicle at the junction with Panmure Road.
Despite the best efforts of medics, he was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later. No one else was injured. Police closed the road for more than six hours to allow for a full accident investigation to be carried out.
Investigators are now appealing for members of the public who may have witnessed the crash or who have relevant dash cam footage to come forward.
Sergeant Kevin Wilkie said: “Our thoughts are with the friends and family of the man who died as a result of this incident.
“Our enquiries are ongoing and I am appealing to anyone with information who has not already contacted police to get in touch.
“I am also appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time and who may have dash-cam footage to contact us.”
