A biker has been airlifted to hospital after a horror crash in South Ayrshire this afternoon.
Emergency services, including Police Scotland, raced to the B741 in Girvan shortly after 4.30pm after receiving reports of a smash involving a car and a motorcycle.
The incident took place near the William Grant Distillery, according to the Scottish Sun.
The male motorcyclist was taken by air ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment.
Medics describe his condition as serious.
The driver of the car did not sustain any injuries.
Officers have launched an investigation into the accident, and the road is currently closed.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received a report of a crash involving a car and a motorcycle on B741 near to the William Grant Distillery, Girvan, around 4.45pm on Thursday, 23 June, 2022.
“Emergency services attended and the male rider of the motorcycle was airlifted to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where his condition was described as serious.
“The driver of the car was not injured.
"Enquiries are ongoing and the road is currently closed."
