Madhubani: At least 4 people died and one was critically injured after being hit by the vehicle of Madhepura District Magistrate on Tuesday morning. The deceased include a mother and daughter. After the accident, furious crowd surrounded the DM's car and vandalised it.
It is alleged that after the mishap, the DM and the driver left the car and escaped the spot.
According to Dynamite News correspondent, the vehicle of DM was going from Darbhanga towards Madhepura at around 7 in the morning. Meanwhile, the car lost control, crashed near Purwari Tola on NH 57 and hit the railing of the road and rammed into the people sitting there, killing four of them and injuring the other one.
Of the four deceased, two are said to be local and another two are NHAI workers. The injured has been admitted to the hospital.
There was no reaction from Madhepura district administration till the filing of this report.
