PATNA: The Congress has made it clear that any leader or worker going against the party lines or not following discipline will have to face the music.
A meeting of the state disciplinary committee of the Congress was held on Friday in which it was decided that any activity of the netas which goes against the party lines will not be tolerated. The meeting was attended by Congress’s Bihar incharge Bhakta Charan Das, state president Madan Mohan Jha, disciplinary committee president Kripa Nath Pathak and others. This is for the second time in a week that Das has come to Patna to oversee the party’s functioning.
“Indiscipline will not be tolerated at any level. The disciplinary committee will keep an eye on all the activities of the party functionaries. The idea is to ensure that the organisation works smoothly and there is coordination from the district to state level,” read a statement issued by the party after the meeting.
Meanwhile, Bihar Congress president Jha said the party would start its statewide yatra soon. “The three-day chintan shivir of Congress will be held in Udaipur from May 13 to 15. After this, we will start preparation related to our yatra in Bihar,” he added.
The yatra was supposed to begin in April. However, it was postponed after Jha offered to resign from the post of state president of the party.
