Bihar CM Nitish Kumar reviews modernisation works of Patna Planetarium

PATNA: Bihar CM Nitish Kumar on Friday visited Patna Planetarium, located in the premises of Indira Gandhi Vigyan Parisar in Patna, and took stock of the ongoing modernisation works in the planetarium’s projection system.

Accompanied by the state’s science and technology minister Sumit Kumar Singh, the CM also inspected the sky theatre, computer section, solar plates, interior parts of the planetarium building as well as its open premises.

The CM issued necessary instructions to the officials for equipping the planetarium with modern technology.

The CM asked the officials to make the planetarium building “sturdier and more attractive” while keeping in mind the facilities for the visitors.

He further asked the officials to complete the ongoing modernization works within the fixed timeframe.

“Patna Planetarium is very old. Ensure all necessary works to strengthen its structure so that it could remain protected till a long time,” Nitish said and further instructed the officials to give special attention to provide better facilities in the auditorium located in the Vigyan premises.

“Also make necessary arrangements to ensure availability of adequate quantities of solar energy in the planetarium premises. The ongoing modernisation works should be completed in such a manner that there should be no shortcomings in the planetarium,” the CM told the officials.

Nitish also ordered for proper beautification of the Indira Gandhi Vigyan premises to give a better look to the planetarium.

Earlier the planetarium officials made a detailed presentation before the CM about the ongoing modernisation work of its projection system.

The principal secretary to the CM Deepak Kumar, the additional advisor to the CM Manish Kumar Verma, the secretary to the CM Anupam Kumar, the building construction secretary-cum-divisional commissioner (Patna) Kumar Ravi, the science and technology secretary Lokesh Kumar Singh and Patna DM Chandra Shekhar Singh also were present at the planetarium during the CM’s inspection.
