Biggest typhoon in decades nears Taiwan after landslides kill 15 in Philippines

Thousands of people were evacuated from their homes Friday as Typhoon Bavi crawled towards Taiwan after having triggered deadly landslides in the Philippines. The tropical storm is the largest typhoon to hit Taiwan in more than three decades.

Fifteen people were killed in landslides in the Philippines and thousands in Taiwan were evacuated from their homes as the biggest typhoon in decades neared the region on Friday.
