New Delhi: Election Commission of India on Monday ordered the removal of Home Secretaries in 6 states- Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
Besides ECI also ordered the removal of DG&IGPolice of Bengal and asked the state government to send a panel of three eligible officers by 5 pm today. In the mean time the charge of DG&IGP must be handed over to the next senior officer in the Police Headquarters.

The Election Commission has also ordered the removal of Brihanmumbai Municipal Commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal and Additional Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners.

At the same time, ECI removed General Administration Secretaries in Mizoram and Himachal Pradesh.
The Election Commission aslo ordered the removal of Secretary GAD Mizoram and Himachal Pradesh who are holding charge in respective CM’s Office.
