Galopin Des Champs has been the subject of a big gamble for the King George VI Chase at Kempton on St Stephen's Day.
Willie Mullins' gelding, one of the most exciting horses in training, has been backed from prices available at 8/1 on Friday morning into as low as 2/1 with some bookmakers.
The Mullins camp had intended on running two-time Ryanair Chase winner Allaho in the Christmas showpiece.

But that plan had to be shelved when Allaho suffered an injury setback earlier this month.
Now the gamble on Galopin Des Champs suggests that he could be rerouted to a race Mullins won last year with Tornado Flyer.
The current favourite for the three-mile contest is the Paul Nicholls-trained Bravemansgame.
A spokesperson for Paddy Power said: "We’ve seen a few bets for Galopin Des Champs today which would indicate Willie [Mullins] is certainly thinking of sending him to Kempton over Christmas.
“With Allaho unfortunately ruled out of the race, it could be that Galopin Des Champs proves to be the Mullins super-sub.”
Galopin Des Champs was revelation over fences last season and would have been a wide-margin winner of the Grade 1 Turners Novices’ Chase at the Cheltenham Festival only to fall at the final fence.
The six-year-old is the general favourite for this year's Cheltenham Gold Cup in March.
