Big Brother winner Cameron Cole has revealed his ideal line-up of hosts for the new ITV reboot – throwing his own hat in the ring.
The last ever civilian show winner on Channel 5 said he would love to see Alison Hammond at the top of the list, alongside Rylan-Clark.
Speaking to the Mirror on his way home from his new student life in London for the weekend, Cameron explains why he thinks Emma Willis may not be returning for the new series on ITV.
“I’m very split, I think Rylan would be great. I also think Alison would be great and I love Emma,” he said. “Although I’m not sure Emma would come back and do it, I’ve just got a feeling.”
The telly star, who won the series in 2018 when he was just 19-years-old, has even suggested that he could host the new series.
He’s certainly got the right credentials after scooping the top spot and quickly becoming a fan-favourite for his sarcastic wit in the Big Brother House.
“Obviously we’ve got Davina as well but I think, if it’s out of those four, whoever we get – it could even be me – I'd be happy,” he told the Mirror.
“I’d be really happy with all of them, I do really love Allisson, I think she would be fantastic.
“Emma is brilliant and I love her to bits and I also think Rylan would be absolutely fantastic.
“He was always brilliant on Big Brother’s Bit on the Side and he eats, drinks and sleeps Big Brother, he absolutely loves it and I think he’d be fantastic.
“But Davina is just the original who is simply ‘poster Big Brother, producers couldn’t go wrong with any of those four.”
The world-famous reality TV show, which first launched in the Netherlands in 1999, is coming back to UK TV, and will maintain its “familiar format”.
Launching “from 2023” on ITV 2 and ITVX, their new online streaming platform, the new series was sensationally announced during the ad break of the Love Island final.
Fans were sent into a frenzy after the iconic Big Brother theme tune played to the nation after an almost five-year hiatus.
In the UK, Big Brother first aired on Channel 4 and ran for a total of 11 series, plus seven series of Celebrity Big Brother and a final special edition series entitled Ultimate Big Brother.
One person particularly excited about the return is Cameron.
Speaking of the announcement, he told the Mirror: “I was thrilled, ultimately I love the show and I think the way it was treated by Channel 5 in the end was horrific.
“So I’m really happy that it’s found a new home that hopefully will treat it with love and respect like it used to get.
“The concept is fantastic and it changes people's lives and I’m literally a perfect example of that.
“It gave me the best time of my life and I would go back inside in a heartbeat. I miss it every single day, even just as a TV show and not as a housemate, I just love it... I love it to bits.”
Cameron says he is excited to watch a series of Big Brother from the viewer’s perspective after winning the show – something he has been unable to do.
He added: “That’s never happened before because I never got the opportunity to see another one.
“I’m just happy it will be on a channel that I think, if you look at the success of Love Island, will treat it with respect and what it deserves and will put it on at the right time, not at 11pm at night like Channel 5 did with us.”
