Big Brother's Chantelle Houghton keen to return for 2023 series to 'find a new husband'

Big Brother winner Chantelle Houghton has admitted she wants to take part in the series in order to "find a new husband".

The 38-year-old reality TV star won the fourth series of Celebrity Big Brother back in 2006 after entering the house as the only non-famous person.

During her time on the show, Chantelle grew close to Ordinary Boys singer Preston and the pair ended up engaged in April 2006 and married in the August.

However, by June 2007 Chantelle and Preston had announced their separation and received the decree nisi for their divorce in November 2007.

Following the news that Big Brother will return to ITV in 2023, Chantelle appeared on Tuesday's This Morning alongside fellow winners Kate Lawler and Anthony Hutton.

Asked by host Rochelle Humes what it was like being the only non-famous person in the house, Chantelle revealed: "Honestly, I didn't know what they had planned for me until I got into the house."

Vernon Kay was stunned and said: "Hang on, so no one briefed you?"

"No I didn't know anything. The only thing I had been told is that it would be half celebrities, half non-celebrities and then it was only once I got in that they said, 'you're the only person in here'," Chantelle explained.

When Vernon asked if she would ever go back into the Big Brother house, Chantelle jokingly replied: "Absolutely! I need a new husband!"

Towards the end of the interview, Vernon said: "I'm getting nostalgic because I think I interviewed all three of you when we were doing T4 back in the day!"

Anthony then told him: "You haven't changed a bit, you still look fantastic!"

Chantelle used to be married to Ordinary Boys singer Preston who she met on Celebrity Big Brother (PA)

Rochelle then interjected and said of her co-star: "Honestly, I said to him this morning in the make-up room. 'It's not fair that I have to sit there', because he has the best skin in showbiz!"

But Chantelle was quick to praise the former pop star and told her: "Oh Rochelle you're so beautiful, even more beautiful in real life, like seriously!"

On Monday it was confirmed that Big Brother will return next year, when a teaser trailer was shown during the Love Island 2022 final on ITV2.

Former host Rylan Clark also took to Twitter to share a picture of the eye.

He captioned it: "He was always watching… It’s coming home #bbuk."

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV and ITV Hub.
