Big Brother legend Lauren Harries rushed to hospital for emergency brain operation

Celebrity Big Brother legend Lauren Harries has been rushed to hospital for emergency brain surgery, her mother has revealed.

Lauren's mother Katy shared the news with fans on social media and asked them to send their prayers.

She wrote on Twitter: "Please pray or send good thoughts to my precious daughter Lauren @Laurenharries. Who is recovering from emergency brain surgery today."

Friends and followers were quick to share their well wishes in response to the tweet.

One wrote: "oh my gosh, sending all my thoughts and prayers xX".

"Speedy recovery to the one and only," another added.

And a third added: "Prayers sent. Get well soon".

Lauren also re-posted her mother's tweet to confirm her health news.

However, the reality star did not go into further detail about her health and the cause for the need for the operation is not known.

Mirror has contacted Lauren's representatives for comment.

Shortly before the health news, Lauren was posting to her Twitter page and sharing updates with her followers.

Her most recent tweet on April 11 read: "Back to what I was doing, love you, speak soon".

Lauren has a close bond with her mother Katy and previously talked about how supportive she is.

The former Celebrity Big Brother was born in Surrey in 1978 and was the youngest of three children.

From a young age, she loved art and antiques and was supposedly really good at spotting bargains at thrift stores and jumbo sales.

In 2004, Lauren - who was born James - underwent gender reassignment and Channel 4 even broadcast a documentary called Little Lady Fauntleroy about her journey.

Speaking about the operation, Lauren said: "It is a big operation and when I had it done all those years ago it was more dangerous as they didn’t know enough about it.

"There was talk that if I had it done I would have a heart attack in my 30s as my body wouldn’t be able to deal with it."

Two years later, she appeared in Trust Me - I'm A Beauty Therapist.

It wasn't until 2013 that Lauren joined the 12th series of CBB, with her finishing in third place.
