Big Brother icons SLAM wannabe reality stars as they launch major career change

Big Brother's Sukhvinder and Imran Javeed have launched a new career – miles away from their reality TV background after appearing on the show.

Back in 2017, the husband and wife duo entered the Big Brother house as two separate housemates and instantly became a hit with viewers.

During their time in the house which was located at Elstree Studios, Imran became the chef for his fellow housemates while his wife Sukhvinder made it clear she wasn't going to sugarcoat things.

Six years after their appearance, the couple have nothing but praise for their experience with reality TV but claim newbies often go on shows purely for fame.

Speaking exclusively to the Mirror ahead of the launch of SPHYNX tequila, Sukhvinder said: "I think most reality stars think 'Oh I'm going to go on there', they want a deal – they want something, it's quite selfish.

"I had a great time and maybe being on ITV might give them a better platform because I think Big Brother contestants should have got a better platform to be promoted and they don't, whereas Love Island – what do we want to promote?"

Sukhvinder added that she believes Big Brother should "never have gone away", adding that the show changed her life as they had the "best aftercare".

Meanwhile, Javeed added: "It'll be brilliant but if they start putting in people that have got television experience or people are trying to promote their social media careers, then you won't get that pure experience."

Discussing their decision to launch a tequila brand, Sukhvinder explained that after finding fame on the show, they attended lavish events and drank "really good tequilas" before falling in love with the Mexican drink.

"One evening, Imran and I decided we wanted to do something together," she said, before adding: "We wanted to build an empire, a legacy brand together.

"We were just drinking some tequila and we thought, 'Well, why not? Why not just launch our own tequila?' it was something that was said in the moment but something we knew we actually wanted to do."

Husband Imran added: "We were always into really good drinks, we're very busy people anyway.

"When we started drinking very good tequila, we realised that 'Wow, we can wake up the next morning and still function'."

Discussing working as husband and wife on a business venture together, Imran said: "Sukhvinder's my best friend, we do things together, it was natural that we came together for this tequila.

"We've both got strengths from our careers, it's been really fun."

But the couple made a conscious decision to not use their Big Brother platform with a quick brand deal, instead, they chose to launch a "bigger" brand.
