However, this figure remained relatively unchanged from the end of the first quarter in March, indicating that funds were being spent as quickly as they were being raised.
The fundraising totals for April were significantly lower compared to March when Biden's campaign and the DNC raised over $90 million. Trump's April fundraising was notably boosted by a record-setting $50.5 million from a single event with donors at the Palm Beach, Florida home of billionaire investor John Paulson.
Trump's fundraising efforts have been strong, with the GOP reporting over $65.6 million raised in March and closing out the month with $93.1 million in cash-on-hand. In contrast, Biden's campaign emphasized the importance of its substantial war chest in supporting major advertising campaigns in key states and mobilizing supporters ahead of the upcoming election.
The Biden campaign highlighted the success of recurring donors in April, with contributions exceeding $5.5 million from such donors alone. Additionally, over 225,000 donors have committed to monthly contributions, surpassing the numbers seen at this point in the 2020 election cycle.
Despite Trump's fundraising prowess, Biden's team has been actively expanding its presence on the ground, boasting more than 150 coordinated offices with Democratic officials and over 500 staff members in battleground states. The campaign is focused on engaging voters and building a strong coalition for the upcoming election.
As the fundraising race continues, both campaigns are gearing up for a highly anticipated election in November, with Biden's team emphasizing the importance of grassroots support and consistent contributions from a broad base of donors.
