US President Joe Biden arrived in Jeddah on Friday on an official visit at the invitation of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz.
The two-day visit boosts the historic bilateral ties and unique strategic partnership between Saudi Arabia and the United States.
It reflects the joint desire of both countries to develop the ties in all fields.
He was welcomed upon his arrival at King Abdulaziz International Airport by Governor of the Makkah Region Prince Khalid al-Faisal and Saudi Ambassador to the US Princess Reema bint Bandar.
Biden is scheduled to meet with King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, to discuss aspects of cooperation between the friendly countries and ways to confront challenges facing the region and world.
Biden will attend a summit called for by King Salman for the Gulf Cooperation Council leaders. The summit will be attended by Egyptian President Abdul Fattah al-Sisi, Jordan’s King Abdullah II and Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi.
