The Biden administration has expressed its support for Israel's recent actions against the Iranian-backed militant groups Hamas and Hezbollah. Officials have emphasized the distinction between Israel's defensive measures and Iran's retaliatory missile attack on Israel, which has been condemned as escalatory.

President Joe Biden commended the US and Israel militaries for their response to the missile attack and reiterated full support for Israel. Secretary of State Antony Blinken called Iran's missile attack unacceptable and called for global condemnation.
