Biblos, Oowee, Taka Taka and more: How to get free food in Bristol this week

A huge art, food and music event is taking place in Bristol tomorrow (Thursday). Nine much-loved restaurants from across our city will be serving up their dishes for free as a new mural is unveiled.

In collaboration with Upfest - Europe's largest street art and graffiti festival - Deliveroo will reveal the mural on Thursday (May 4,) as part of a free event with food sampling and live music.

A taste of the menu will be available from eateries including Koh Thai, Biblos, Pizza Workshop, Dhamaka, Noa Sushi, Loki Poke, Nadu, Taka Taka and Oowee free of charge. Each restaurant offers a unique take on a variety of cuisines, showcasing the diversity of Bristol's culinary culture.

Caroline Harris, UK&IE Marketing Director, Deliveroo, said: “Bristol is a fiercely independent city with tasty independent restaurants and talented independent artists. We wanted to bring the two together with this new campaign, which will see artworks celebrating 10 of the city’s best independent restaurants, created by local artists, appear throughout Bristol.

"From a huge mural in the city centre to poster sites across Bristol, we want to illustrate the huge selection of independent restaurants available on Deliveroo, through the eyes of a set of show stopping artists”.

The event will take place at DareShack, Vintry Building, Wine Street between 12pm - 3pm.

Redeemable by discount code, which can be found on flyers being given out at the event, Deliveroo is offering 1000 x £10 off vouchers for Bristolians to fully immerse themselves in these independent culinary delights. These vouchers are available between May 4 to 11.

Bristolians were left gutted after Upfest announced it was taking a break this year. But now organisers have revealed they are hosting a smaller event in Weston-super-Mare this summer for the return of Weston Wallz.

Upfest co-founder, Stephen Hayles, said: “It’s great to be coming back to Weston-super-Mare. The amount of support we get here is amazing and big thanks to the town council and Culture Weston for inviting us back again and investing into this initiative and our artists.

"We are excited to continue on the street art trail so if anyone has a building or property that would be good to add to the project then get in touch.”

Weston Wallz first launched in 2021 and the third instalment in Weston-super-Mare will be no different. Artists and locations will be announced in the coming months leading up to the project and street art fans are invited to come down and follow the process.
