Britain's Got Talent star Francine Lewis has admitted she's feeling "embarrassed" after accusing her husband of 17-years of cheating live on TV earlier this week.
The 47-year-old, who rose to fame on the ITV show in 2013, has told fans how she never planned to air her "dirty laundry" so publicly and thanked them for their kind messages since.
Francine accused husband Joel Ryan of sending to his best friend's girlfriend live on GB News on Friday - vowing never to forgive her partner for the alleged betrayal.
Joel, who shares two children with the comedian, has denied he went behind his wife's back and had an affair.
Taking to Instagram on Saturday, Francine issued a lengthy update to her 103,000 followers and offered an explanation to why she ended up discussing the allegations live on-air the previous day.
Captioning a shot of herself posing by a pool in a bikini, the mum-of-two confessed to feeling embarrassed despite having "nothing to be embarrassed about", and revealed she was taking a few days away to deal with the situation.
She also explained how she never intended to bring the alleged affair up during her TV appearance, but admitted she had only found out about it the night before and it "just came out" live on-air.
"I am so touched and grateful for all your wonderful messages I’ve received," Francine began in her lengthy Instagram update.
"I'm not one to talk about my personal life and I always thought, if something like this happened to me, i would never want anyone to know.
"I’m embarrassed even though I have nothing to be embarrassed about and i have a lot of pride. I thought I had this perfect family life but little did I know, it was quite the opposite."
She continued: "I really didn’t mean to wash my dirty laundry on TV but it was so raw as I had only found out the night before and I had not slept all night.
"I’m just devastated. I'm a professional though, so I didn’t want to cancel my slot on @gbnews and let them down."
Francine then went on to express her regret that the alleged affair had become national news but claimed the "huge support" she has since received has been healing.
She continued to state that social media was a "wonderful" place for her currently and is currently "away for a few days" while she tries to process recent events.
The impressionist then stated how her family "has always come before everything" and she felt blessed to have been a full-time mum before her career took off thanks to her appearance on Britain's Got Talent in 2013.
Reflecting on her relationship with her husband Joel, Francine praised his parenting skills as she concluded her post.
"It was coming up to our 17 years of married life. I am so sad for my children," the star told her followers.
"Joel has always been an incredible father and i know he will continue to be just that. Thank you to those who have sent me incredible messages, of support, to my family and to my team that I work with on a daily basis.
"Life is unpredictable so just enjoy every second."
A number of celebrities rushed to comment underneath Francine's emotional update - with Nicola McClean telling the star: "I’m so sorry babe message me if you need anything."
