Beyond The Boundary | Decoding what went wrong for Rohit Sharma & Co. in Bengaluru Test

In the latest episode of Beyond The Boundary, which aired on October 21, host Chetan Narula was joined by Times of India's Sahil Malhotra, Gaurav Gupta, and Manuja Veerappa to break down India's defeat against New Zealand in the first Test at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. India lost the match by eight wickets, falling 0-1 behind in the three-match series.

According to the updated World Test Championship (WTC) standings, India remain at the top, but their lead over second-placed Australia has narrowed following the defeat. India now have a points percentage of 68.06, with two Tests left against New Zealand in Pune and Mumbai before heading to Australia for a five-match series, where they’ll look to improve their standing. Australia follow with 62.50 percent, while Sri Lanka sit in third at 55.56 percent.

New Zealand’s comfortable chase of 107 on day five has lifted them from sixth to fourth place in the WTC standings, with a points percentage of 44.44, overtaking both England and South Africa.

The panel also touched on IPL retention and injury updates for Rishabh Pant, Shubman Gill, and Mohammed Shami.

Catch Beyond The Boundary Monday-Friday at 6:15 PM IST as Times of India explores the latest cricket action on and off the field.
