Beyonce gifts $2 million to Harlem museum championing Black artists on her 45th birthday

Beyonce marked her 45th birthday on September 4, 2026, with a $2 million gift to the Studio Museum in Harlem, supporting an institution dedicated to artists of African descent and the exploration of Black culture through art. Announced by her company, Parkwood Entertainment, the donation reflected her interest in art collecting and her appreciation for the museum's exhibitions, which introduced her to emerging Black artists whose work she admired. The gift came less than a year after the institution opened its purpose-built home in Harlem in November 2025. Founded in 1968, the museum continues to support artists through exhibitions, educational initiatives and professional development programmes.
