If you look at huge artists like Ed Sheeran and Harry Styles they always have a group of dedicated fans who will happily spend thousands of pounds and many hours camping out to see them. Global superstar Beyoncé is no different and as the pop queen comes to perform in Cardiff on Wednesday, May 17, some fans have camped overnight to see her.
This includes Kirsty Smith, who is 22, and Taylor Golden, who is 24, who slept overnight on the floor under blankets on the paved area by the River Taff outside the Principality Stadium. They had arrived at 3pm on Tuesday, May 16, to ensure they got the best spot. Kirsty travelled two-and-a-half hours on the train from Devon, while Taylor travelled four-and-a-half hours on a bus from London.
Kirsty explained why they have queued for so long, she said: "Being up close, that is the whole reason we camped so we could be guaranteed front row so you get that interaction and it's just a different experience than being in the seats because you can actually make eye contact and get the energy going."

Both admitted it was not comfy camping out, Kirsty said: "I didn't sleep, I think you just run on adrenaline but it's worth it." The pair met online as Beyoncé fans and have since gone to many concerts together, their first tour together being the Formation tour, spending £360 each on their tickets for tonight.
Kirsty also explained that as fans are only allowed to take in a small bag to the stadium, she will have to ditch and bin some of her stuff, including her blanket. Speaking about their friendship Kirsty said: "If you are lucky enough to be friends co-incidentally with someone who likes Beyoncé just as much as you, it is just not going to happen, people who will pay the same amount of money. You are going to meet those people here in the queue and because you are here for so long queuing you become bonded."
Kirsty also said she would probably see Beyoncé again in London, she said: "I'm probably going to end up going again to London because I just don't think I'm going to be satisfied with one."
