Bexley chemical leak: Police urge residents to keep windows closed after spill

Police are urging Londoners to close their windows after a chemical leak from a factory in Sidcup.

Residents in Cray Road, Sidcup and surrounding areas were evacuated by firefighters after the toxic spill at around 9pm on Wednesday.

Bexley MPS tweeted on Wednesday night: “Officers are assisting @LondonFire at the scene of a chemical leak at a factory in Cray Road, #Sidcup.

“The site has been evacuated and a cordon is in place.

“No injuries have been reported.

“People living nearby are asked to keep doors and windows closed as a precaution.”

Motorists are being asked to avoid the area with Cray Road cordoned off.
