Coronation Street icon Beverley Callard has said she is trying to be "brave and strong" after a "weird" cancer update.

The 69-year-old, who played Rovers Return bartender Liz McDonald for three decades on the ITV soap, announced in February that the illness is in its “very early stages”. She has since given regular updates to her fans.
