Betty White's assistant has shared what she believes to be one of the last photos to be taken of the beloved star before she passed away on New Year's Eve.
The image was release don what would have been Betty's 100th birthday and shows the star looking her usual happy and glamorous self in a bright green patterned shirt and white trousers with her trademark red lipstick.
The late actress' assistant shared the sweet snap on Facebook on Monday and said the image was taken on December 20, less than two weeks before the Golden Girls star sadly died.
Alongside the image Betty's assistant Kiersten wrote: "Hello everyone! It's Kiersten. Betty's Assistant.
"On this special day I wanted to share this photo of Betty. It was taken on 12/20/21. I believe it's one of the last photos of her.
"She was radiant and beautiful and happy as ever. Thanks to all of you who are doing kind things today and every day to make the world a better place."
Fans flocked to the post to share messages of appreciation for the star, with many animal charities also commenting on all the donations they have received in her honour since her death.
Elizabeth Feldhausen of Safe Haven Pet Sanctuary Inc wrote: "We have been receiving SO many donations in honor of Betty today. She is making such a huge difference for the cats with disabilities at Safe Haven Pet Sanctuary Inc."
Oregon Friends of Shelter Animals also replied with a similar message: "Our rescue has donations pouring in in memory/honor of this beautiful woman. Thank you, Betty White! The future of rescue animals is much brighter because of her!"
It's thought the image was taken a day before Betty recorded a thank you message for her fans as part of the new movie titled Betty White: A Celebration, which showcases the star's life.
The film's director Steven Boettcher said she recorded a message 10 days before her passing.
Betty reportedly suffered a stroke nearly a week before she passed.
TMZ reported that the cause of death for the actress has been listed on the death certificate as a cerebrovascular accident.
When news of her death broke, famous faces were quick to pay their respects on social media.
Among the first to comment was Ryan Reynolds. The Hollywood actor who starred in rom com The Proposal alongside Betty wrote: "The world looks different now.
'She was great at defying expectation. She managed to grow very old and somehow, not old enough. We’ll miss you, Betty. Now you know the secret."
