Chelsea's recent signing of Gabriel Slonina may have gone under the radar in terms of their recent business, with the 18-year-old former Chicago Fire keeper joining in the summer before returning to the MLS side on loan.
However, last night he made his USMNT debut, making a big impact on his debut with a great save on his first appearance. The USA lost 2-1 to Serbia in the friendly, but Slonina caught the eye with his performance in the defeat and Chelsea fans will be getting excited to see more of the player.
In the 31st minute, with the USA leading 1-0, Serbia broke down the left wing and with runners making late surges into the box the ball was cut back. The initial shot from Veljko Simić was saved by Slonina before the rebound was guided towards goal, Slonina was on hand to scoop the ball away once again to make a seemingly impossible save.

Slonina is up against another London keeper in the form of Matt Turner for the US number one jersey. Turner joined Arsenal last summer as well.
