Bestselling author Lynda La Plante has been banned from driving for six months, despite her emotional appeal that the disqualification would spell the end of her writing career.
The 83-year-old screenwriter and novelist told Lavender Hill Magistrates’ Court that her vehicle was "essential for meeting criminals and sources," which she deemed "vital for research into her next works of fiction."
