Bestselling Author and Ex-MP Jeffrey Archer Dies 'Suddenly and Peacefully' at 86, Ahead of Final Book Release

Jeffrey Archer, bestselling author of 'Kane and Abel' (1979) and the Clifton Chronicles series (2011-2016), has died. Archer, who was also a former Conservative MP, was 86.

HarperCollins released a statement that Archer died 'suddenly and peacefully at home' on Monday, 5 October 2026. His much-anticipated final book, 'Adam & Eve', was set to be released on Tuesday.
