The price of a weekly shop in Liverpool has increased by the quickest amount since September 2013, according to industry experts.
Kantar has confirmed grocery price inflation has risen by 4.3% in February, the largest rise in nine years.
The news means shoppers could see prices rise at their favourite supermarket.

The data shows budget supermarkets such as Lidl and Aldi may be the big winners of the price rise as sales at both increased by 3.3% in February.

Iceland multibuy offers and free delivery
Iceland has launched a special 'Payday Event' with multibuy offers on tens of items including bottled water, cat food and pasta. There is also an offer to get three bottles of wine for £15, making it £5 a bottle.

Sainsbury's Aldi price match and discount code for Nectar sign ups
Sainsbury's has launched a price match with budget supermarket Aldi. It says: "We've Aldi Price Matched on 150 fresh Sainsbury's own-label and branded products plus other grocery and frozen products in our larger stores."
The biggest offers of the week include Tresemme beauty products, Colgate toothpaste and Ben and Jerry's ice cream.
The best Sainsbury's deals are offered to Nectar Card owners. Those who sign up for a Nectar Card for the first time will be able to get £15 off a shop worth £60 or more using the code SCSEO22MA15.
Tesco top Clubcard deals
Tesco meal deal prices have risen from £3 to £3.50 but owners of a Tesco Clubcard can beat the price rise by accessing the brand's 'Clubcard prices'.
In fact, most of Tesco's best discounts and offers are available only to Clubcard holders.
Asda's three discount codes to get money off orders
There are three discount codes you can use to get money off at Asda. They include 10% off an order, £7 off when you order, and £10 of an order depending on how much you spend.
