One of the biggest religious events on the Islamic calendar, Ramadan, will soon be underway - and millions of Muslims from around the world will partake in fasting for 30 days from dawn to dusk.
Fasting is one of the five Pillars of Islam, and during Ramadan, it allows Muslims to devote themselves to their faith, and become closer to Allah, or God. It also serves as a time for reflection, empathy, sacrifice, and self-control.
To help keep track of the days, Ramadan advent calendars have become increasingly popular over the years, for both adults and kids’ - and they’re great for providing a tasty treat or reward to eat at the end of each day of fasting.
They work in a similar way to the advent calendars used for Christmas, but this time you’ll be counting down to Eid ul Fitr one window at a time.
Below, we’ve picked out some of our favourite Ramadan chocolate calendars to make that countdown that little bit sweeter.
It's not just chocolate treats that are on offer either, as beauty fans can pick up this Huda Beauty X Wishful Beauty Delights Ramadan Calendar for £62.68 instead of £109.
The calendar is filled with bestsellers from Huda Kattan's two brands; Wishful Skincare and Huda Beauty including Wishful's Yo Glow Enzyme scrum, Huda Beauty's Power Bullet Cream Glow lipstick and fragrances from Kayali to help you feel and look your best, as you countdown to the big day.
Because the Muslim calendar is based on lunar cycles - which is different to the Gregorian calendar - the exact date of Ramadan changes every year. This year the event is expected to begin on Wednesday 22 March, and end on Friday 21 April, with the celebratory days of Eid al-Fitr starting on Saturday 22 April or Sunday 23 April.
