The Georgia Bulldogs are 4-1 after defeating the Auburn Tigers 31-13 on Saturday. Georgia moves to 2-1 in the SEC. Auburn is now 2-4 and 0-3 in SEC play. The Tigers will struggle to make a bowl game.
Georgia avoided a loss on upset Saturday, which featured the defeat of four top 10 teams in the US LBM Coaches Poll. No upset was more stunning than the Vanderbilt Commodores’ 40-35 home win over the Alabama Crimson Tide.
Georgia did not dominate Auburn, but still had a comfortable win. Georgia held a 28-10 lead in the second half and had a 99% chance to win for most of the fourth quarter according to ESPN.
Georgia quarterback Carson Beck threw a pair of touchdown passes in Georgia’s home win. Beck was efficient in the short passing game against Auburn. He also got a strong performance from running back Trevor Etienne. Etienne scored a pair of rushing touchdowns and broke numerous tackles against Auburn.
Defensive lineman Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins anchored the Georgia defense against Auburn. Ingram-Dawkins posted a pair of sacks. Georgia’s defense did a good job of getting off the field on third downs (Auburn was four of 13 on third down conversion attempts).
