Unsigned guard free agent Jay Scrubb shined against the Miami Heat last Saturday afternoon in the first game of the Sin City Celtics in the NBA’s 2023 Las Vegas Summer League, showcasing his impressive scoring ability and solid defensive skills in the Boston Celtics‘ 99-88 loss to the Summer Heat.
In 23 minutes of playing time off of the Celtics’ bench, Scrubb put up 17 points, 1 rebound, 2 steals, and 1 block while picking up 2 personal fouls over that stretch with 4 turnovers pulling down his efficiency a bit. The former Los Angeles Clippers shooting guard shot a solid 6-of-11 from the field overall, a middling 1-of-3 from beyond the arc, and a respectable 4-of-6 from the free throw line.
