In a recent article by Matt Bowen of ESPN, he named 101 different skills and traits and who was the best at each this season. The Raiders had several players make the list, including A.J. Cole and Davante Adams. But the one that really stood out was the best “motor” award for a pass rusher.
That award was given to Maxx Crosby, who plays every play like it is his last. Here is a snippet of what Bowen had to say about the Pro Bowl pass rusher for the Raiders:
In addition to his refined pass-rushing traits, Crosby plays with relentless effort, and he makes a lot of plays late in the play. Crosby has produced 13.5 sacks, and his 59 pressures are the second most in the league.
Crosby has more pressures and tackles for a loss than any EDGE rusher in the NFL since 2021 and a big reason why is due to his motor. But don’t let that fool you into thinking that is the only reason that he is productive.
Crosby is a fantastic athlete who has really improved in the technical aspects of the game. He’s become one of the best defensive players in the league and his motor is just one of several different reasons why he is successful.
