Houseplants are more intelligent than we give them credit. Unlike the old adage that you can take a horse to water, but you can’t make it drink – plants barely have to be touching water to find a way to soak up precious nutrients through their roots, or in some cases, their flowers.
Yet no matter how much we surround ourselves with bustling indoor greenery, curating and sticking to a proper watering schedule is no simple task. Different plants require different levels of maintenance, so we end up with ridiculous convoluted schedules which require us to water one specimen every third Tuesday, and another during each full moon. Witchy watering routines aside, it would be far easier if our houseplants could magically water themselves.
