Manchester United star Alejandro Garnacho says no one in world football is better at one vs one defending than teammate Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
The right-back has been lauded for his defensive attributes since his return to the first team after Christmas, the former Crystal Palace man now the preferred pick over Diogo Dalot. When it came to overall defending, Garnacho chose Lisandro Martinez as United’s best.
But regarding who is the hardest to get past individually, Garnacho was sure to give the nod to Wan-Bissaka. Speaking to the Premier League’s media team, he explained: “Aaron Wan-Bissaka, probably defending one vs one he is the best in the world, for me. He goes to the floor, he’s fast too so he’s difficult.”
Scott McTominay echoed Garnacho in his praise of the full-back. “No one beats Azzer one vs one,” he said. "He’s so sharp, people don’t realise how quick he is.

"When he’s running back and people say ‘his legs are long and they extend’ - they don’t. He’s so quick and he times it perfectly, every single tackle that he makes is timed.
"It’s always on purpose. The timing is so specific and perfect. I’m yet to see someone give him a good go one vs one.”
Regarding Martinez, Garnacho branded him “incredible” while Facundo Pellistri also sang the praises of the Argentina World Cup winner.
The latter said: “I have a good relationship with him [Martinez]. I also like the character he has and of course he is one of the best defenders nowadays.”
United’s backline - usually Wan-Bissaka, Martinez, Luke Shaw and Raphael Varane - helped David de Gea win the Premier League Golden Glove this season, having kept 17 clean sheets.
It’s the second time he’s won the award, after claiming it during the 2017/18 season.
