After the sthird full slate of regular season action, the NFL and fantasy football are back in full swing.
If you had a tough injury in Week 3, or you just didn’t get the production from one of your players that you expected, we’ll scan the waiver wire. For potential pickups, we’ll consider players who are available in at least 50% of ESPN fantasy leagues.
Let’s take a look at some of the potential waiver wire pickups that could help your teams heading into Week 4 of the NFL campaign.
Jamaal Williams, RB, Detroit Lions (44.3%)
Williams appeared on the waiver wire additions list last week despite being a backup at the time. Now, with D’Andre Swift potentially missing time with a shoulder sprain, the former Green Bay Packer becomes even more valuable.
To this point in the season, Williams is already the eighth-ranked running back in fantasy, averaging 15.9 points per game. Those numbers should improve without Swift in the mix.
Greg Dortch, WR, Arizona Cardinals (7.3%)
The offseason was an interesting one for Cardinals wideouts. DeAndre Hopkins was suspended for six games, and Arizona traded for Marquise Brown to make up for his absence in the early part of the year.
Somehow, Dortch has still found a way to be fantasy-relevant, as he’s currently the 19th-ranked wide receiver, scoring 15.3 points per game. With Rondale Moore still recovering from a hamstring injury and AJ Green leavin last week’s contest. Dortch could have a few more productive weeks before Hopkins returns.
Jared Goff, QB, Detroit Lions (30.7%)
Goff is another returning player from last week’s list. He’s still owned in just 30.7% of leagues, and he’s been the 11th-best quarterback in fantasy, scoring 18.5 points per contest.
He’s a viable starter in a decent amount of fantasy leagues, and he could be even more valuable as a fill-in, if you were relying on Mac Jones or Tua Tagovailoa, who are both dealing with injuries heading into their Week 4 matchups.
Detroit is facing the Seattle Seahawks this week, who are allowing 17.5 points per game to opposing quarterbacks.
David Njoku, TE, Cleveland Browns (32.7%)
Tight ends have been fairly healthy this year, but there also haven’t been many that have separated themselves from the pack. This week, we’re just focusing on a streaming option.
Njoku is currently averaging 10.6 points per week – good for ninth amongst tight ends. His opponent this week, the Atlanta Falcons, are giving up 9.4 points per week more to opposing tight ends than the league average.
Denver Broncos, D/ST (28.5%)
The Broncos are another solid streaming option. In terms of the NFL, they’re giving up the second-fewest points per game (12.0), sacking opposing quarterbacks the eighth-most per game (3.0) and taking the ball away at a decent clip (1.3 times per game).
Those areas have equated to the fourth-ranked defense in fantasy. With an in-division matchup with the Las Vegas Raiders this week, Denver could be a decent streaming option.
