Just enter the domain name you want and Hostinger comes up with what’s available along with some suggestions of something similar. Talking of bundles, Hostinger does the smart thing of appreciating that you want to keep your business name safe. It offers up bundles for a discount. That typically includes .co.uk, .online, and .org to get you started with protecting your brand’s online presence. The best prices come from committing to a three-year term with some domains costing only 1p. That price steadily increases if you only want the domain for a year. I can’t see many people only needing a domain name for 12 months though, so it’s not much of an issue unless you’re playing around with ideas.
Once set up, the Hostinger dashboard has all you could need. It arranges transfers well but also has a great area for your domain portfolio. You can switch on auto-renew, check out privacy protection settings, enable domain forwarding, and lock your domain so it isn’t going anywhere. In the same dashboard, Hostinger also suggests other similar domain names you might want. It’s a useful service overall and competitively priced.

I was quietly in awe of Namecheap’s Beast Mode which comes up with every domain name possible. There are literally hundreds of options and if you want, you can add them all at the touch of a button. Then there’s just a short wait while Namecheap processes everything.
Whether that’s your aim or you just want one domain name, Namecheap is very easy to use. It offers domain privacy for free as standard, with a free trial for web hosting available, too. Listed prices are for the first year too with a one-year plan being standard, so there aren’t any hidden costs or surprises. Namecheap doesn’t even enable auto-renew by default but be aware that you’re paying in USD dollars which may incur extra fees with your bank.
Once set up, the dashboard is a little messy but has everything you need. That includes details about your privacy being protected, nameservers, the option to set up a redirect, and ways to share access to the domain with others such as a business partner. It’s all simple to figure out and I really appreciated the lack of hidden costs.

If you want a domain name which immediately takes you to an attractive landing page, all with very little effort, you’ll like GoDaddy’s way of doing things. It took me a couple of minutes to buy a domain name which matched my brand and immediately, I was given a landing page. GoDaddy pushes a little hard on signing up for web hosting trials or committing to full domain protection so there’s two-factor authentication protecting your site – but push through and it’s worth it.
By buying a domain, you still get access to a free plan which covers the basics and instantly gives you a presence online. This could be overkill if your aim is to collect many domain names but for a personal project, it’s useful. When searching for a domain name, GoDaddy finds a lot of different options like .co.uk to .sucks and some other fun ones. It doesn’t come up with AI suggestions though or even offer guidance as to why one might be better than another.
There are some very cheap bundles popping up, but just make sure you’re willing to commit. All prices are for the first year under the assumption you’re tying in for three years. Individual years tend to cost more so it’s worth keeping an eye on what the prices actually break down to. For a quick way to make your mark online, GoDaddy hits the spot well despite the sometimes vague pricing.

Bluehost starts out very well. Search for a domain name and if it’s already taken, it’ll suggest a (usually) good alternative. That’s without using the AI suggestion box which goes even further. If you’re not sure where to start, it’s a great place to brainstorm ideas. From there, find the domain name you want and instantly be pleased by the fact that the price is the same for the first year whether you commit to three years or just one. The downside? Whois privacy protection is an additional fee which also bundles in advanced security. That’s an annoying one if you want to keep your business or home address private, as you’ll almost certainly have to pay the extra.
Once signed up, Bluehost’s domain list is very simple to manage. An overview gives you insight on when it expires, how protected it is, whether the domain lock is active, and more. It also suggests similar domain names that you might want to buy while you’re committing to your brand name.
If you need to change DNS records, update nameservers, or anything else like that, it takes moments to do. I liked how simple but effective the Bluehost dashboard is at helping you achieve those aims. It’s a good domain hosting service despite the additional fee involved in protecting your privacy.

It’s affordable, takes moments to set up, and is ideal for your long-term goals. Other domain hosting providers like Namecheap and Bluehost are also good to experiment with.
A strong alternative is GoDaddy with its instantly-created landing page. I found that great for anyone short on time as you can still achieve a lot quickly. It’s not always the cheapest, especially if you just want to commit to a one-year plan, but it’s good for a quick solution.
