Erling Haaland has officially been unveiled as a Manchester City player, making him the Blues' first signing of the summer transfer window.
City activated the £51m release clause in the player's Borussia Dortmund contract last month, and agreed personal terms a few weeks ago. The delay in announcing his arrival prompted speculation that the deal had hit a snag, but it turns out that it was all part of the plan.
That's because 13 June marks 22 years to the day since Erling's dad, Alfie, signed for the Blues. Sticking with the City family theme, the club announced the signing on its social media channels with a video of Erling recreating the photo of his younger self sat on a sofa wearing the Blues' 2008/09 shirt.

"This is a proud day for me and my family," Haaland, who grew up supporting City, told mancity.com after completing his move.
"I have always watched City and have loved doing so in recent seasons. You can’t help but admire their style of play, it’s exciting and they create a lot of chances, which is perfect for a player like me."
While Haaland's arrival was hardly a secret, City fans couldn't be more excited. After all, the 21-year-old has scored 115 goals in his last 116 club games. Here's the best of the reaction from social media.
