When Christmas rolls around, the first thing that I unpack is my cheery Christmas bedding. Tucking up in some tartan sheets or a whimsical winter scene is all part of the festive spirit — to help take some of the stress out of Christmas, I've found the cosiest options out there for you.
Many opt for rich holiday reds and deep greens, while others prefer fleecy snow whites and sparkling gold accents. Whatever you opt for, they should be a change from your normal bed sheets and more like your Christmas pyjamas.
We've curated a selection of the best Christmas bedding available on the market this year to help you with your Christmas decorating ideas.
The best Christmas bedding for bringing cosiness home this year
This edit offers budget sets, cosy cotton sets, textured fluffy sets and more. There are even some cosy throws and complementary pillows at the bottom of the page, if you want some help with classic Christmas decorations too.

These are the twelve best Christmas bedding sets on the market right now. Some of them are subtle, like Piglet In Bed's Berry Gingham Collection, and others are a little more obviously festive. I've always prioritised quality, maintenance, and, of course, Christmas style.
RRP: £15 | Composition: polyester | Sizes available: single - king
Catherine Lansfield's fun set has something for everyone. The colour cautious can opt for the white duvet with subtle red and white candy canes. Then, as things heat up for Christmas, flip it for a resplendent all-red display. It's fun, reversible, and woven from super soft microfibre too.
RRP: £38 | Composition: cotton | Sizes available: Double
If you don't want anything overly Christmassy or covered in pictures, this set is a welcome change. With a thick, luxurious check pattern and deep, rich hues, you'll feel like you're sleeping in an expensive lodge all Christmas. The reversible side is just as chic and charming, too!
RRP: £17.50-47.50 | Composition: cotton | Sizes available: Single - super king
This bedding set is the perfect mix of Christmas whimsy and understated sophistication thanks to its Santa motif and deep navy hue. We especially love the reversible design, ideal for a mid-season refresh.
RRP: £19-35 | Composition: cotton, polyester | Sizes available: Single - super king
Looking to embrace the holidays but not quite lose your signature style? This set is just enough festive without being garish or overwhelming. It also has a 50/50 cotton-polyester blend, so you'll be sleeping soundly all season long.
RRP: £88-128 | Composition: linen | Sizes available: single - super king
Now, this isn't exclusively Christmas bedding, but it's got the cosy aesthetic that we all long for. The striped linen, paired with an elegantly embroidered pillowcase, is countryside cottage cosiness to a tee. I've been in love with these sheets since I tested them (and that was only at the beginning of September).
RRP: £24 | Composition: cotton, polyester | Sizes available: King
Want a more elevated candy cane look? This striped set has a delightful design with red and pink, all finished with a rather chic green piped edge. The reverse side is great for all year round too!
RRP: £22-40 | Composition: polyester | Sizes available: Single - super king
This duvet set is a quiet luxury twist on festive bedding, with a classic white material and understated tufted snowflake design. You'll be happy to have this adorn your bed right up to spring.
RRP: £19-35 | Composition: cotton, polyester | Sizes available: Single - super king
The presents won't be the only thing wrapped up this year with this charming duvet cover decorated with enticing gifts. The reverse side is just as stunning with rich greens and antique gold stripes.
RRP: £20-36 | Composition: cotton | Sizes available: Single - king
Who says Christmas can't be classy? These sets will make your bedroom look incredibly chic, so much so that you'll miss having it out during the summer months.
RRP: from £169 | Composition: European flax | Sizes available: single - emperor
Forget pigs in blankets, I want Piglet in Bed in my house this Christmas. Their berry and forest green gingham sets are some of my favourites for adding a subtle, luxurious Christmas feel to your home. They might be expensive, but they're worth it.
RRP: £82 | Composition: cotton | Sizes available: single - super king
This is one of the first Christmas sets that I fell in love with this year. It has all the trappings of ultra-premium sheets (200 thread count cotton and delicate button fastenings), but with a whimsical, adorable aspect of festivity imbued across all the illustrations. What's not to love?
RRP: £32-40 | Composition: polyester | Sizes available: king, super king
Whilst this is currently only available in a king or super king, this is an absolute bargain for a fleece duvet set. Especially one that looks so much more expensive thanks to the charming embroidered Christmas trees dotted across it.
Christmas throws and pillows
If you want to make your bedroom or lounge a little more Christmassy, adding some festive throws and pillows can make a big difference. Almost all the brands in this list have their own, extended Christmas bedding collections that include lots of accessories, but here are my favourites.
RRP: £16 | Borg continues to trend, and it's no wonder, it's cosy, luxurious and utterly perfect for your Christmas bed set-up. This tree cushion will quickly become a firm favourite and introduce a little whimsy to your space.

RRP: £25 | With a classic yet timeless checked design, this blanket will add some texture to your space and help you stick to that warm red colour palette, all while keeping you cosy on those chilly Christmas evenings.
RRP: £19.50 | This christmas cushion is incredibly charming and chic, perfect for leveling up your christmas bedding or adding a festive touch to your usual sets.
FAQs
What material is best for winter bedding?
Cotton, especially flannel, is perfect for sleeping in over the winter. You can get thick sheets to keep you cosy, but cotton is also naturally breathable and moisture-wicking, which looks after your skin while you sleep.
Is Christmas bedding worth getting?

If you want to add a touch of Christmas to your bedroom, Christmas bedding makes for a great investment. It sounds like a small change to make, but the difference that it'll add to your room is surprisingly vast.
When can I put my Christmas bedding out?
I already have my Christmas bedding out, but that's because I'm a bit Christmas crazy. Lots of people wait until the end of November or the beginning of December. Just know, if you want to change it now, you aren't alone.
"The time to put Christmas bedding out will depend entirely on personal preference, with some people choosing to put it out as early as November and others waiting until December. If the bedding is not overly Christmas themed and is instead more generic winter bedding, this can be put out as soon as you start to feel cold," echoes Steve Larkin, interiors expert from Lark & Larks.
Who makes the best Christmas bedding?
All of the brands that I've featured above make good Christmas bedding. I'd normally always opt for cotton sheets, because they're gentle against your skin. However, I think it's okay to opt for cotton or polycotton when you're investing in festive sheets, since they'll be cheaper and lower maintenance than your other sheets.
What are the latest Christmas bedding trends?

Along with Christmas tablescaping trends and the best Christmas tree decorations, we're seeing a few popular styles for bedding this year.
Steve explains that there are three stand-out trends you'll want to keep an eye out for...
- Traditional - As always, a more traditional festive pattern continues to be on trend. Think tartans, rich greens and plaid, it's similar to the Ralph Lauren Christmas trend that's recently taken the spotlight.
- Winter Wonderland - "Winter themed bedding is trending as it can be used to create a winter wonderland look, using elements like white, blue, snowflakes and snowmen," explains Steve.
- Whimsical - "As part of the current trend for nostalgic and whimsical Christmas decorations, bedding in similar designs is also popular. This includes patterns of animals in Santa hats, candy canes, gingerbread men and even Christmas cowboys," Steve continues.
These Christmas bedding sets are the ones that I would (and will be) buy for friends, family, and as gifts. If you haven't got any Christmas bedding yet, you're in for a real treat.
