Former Chelsea defender Glen Johnson reckons the Blues need to win the Carabao Cup final more than Liverpool this weekend as he can't see Thomas Tuchel's side reaching another final this season.
The Blues head into Sunday's Wembley showpiece having already scooped up two trophies so far this term in the form of the FIFA Club World Cup and UEFA Super Cup titles.
They have struggled in the Premier League since Christmas but with emphasis now on cup competitions, the current European and World Champions are in the running to potentially claim a total of five pieces of silverware this season.
If Tuchel's side were to win this weekend and were also able to lift the FA Cup and successfully defend their Champions League defence, it would be the record for the most titles won in a single season by any manager in the Roman Abramovich era.
Despite going strong in all competitions to date, former Blues and Liverpool full-back Johnson has predicted the west London club to fall short of a potential quintuple.
“I’m going to go for Liverpool. I think the way they can play in these big games they’ve just got a lot more going for them, in their performances, and their momentum shall we say," Johnson told bettingodds.com.
“We want to see some entertainment. I don’t want it to be a 1-0 or a 0-0 for sure. Both teams are capable of scoring, aren’t they. Let’s hope for a big, open game and make it exciting.”

He then went on to clarify why he believes the Blues need to win this final more than their Premier League rivals.
“I’d probably say out of the two clubs it’s Chelsea’s most likely chance of silverware this season," he added.
"This is probably their best chance. They've got one game and I can’t see them getting to another final at the moment. I think this is their biggest chance for some silverware.”
