Rangefinders, like a lot of other golf tech, have exploded in popularity over the last 10 to 15 years for a multitude of reasons. They help us get accurate yardages to not only the flag, but other hazards around the course - bunkers, water hazards, trees and more.
Thankfully, not only have we tested a lot of rangefinders over the years, but we have noticed a lot of lasers going on offer right now, just a few weeks before Black Friday officially begins on the 28th November 2025.
As a result we will update this page with all the best deals and there are actually a fair few deals live already hence the deals we have picked out below. One last point before getting to the deals, if you want any golf-related offer, then be sure to have a read of our guide on the best Black Friday golf deals as well.

When is Black Friday
Black Friday in 2025 takes place on Friday 28th November. However, companies have already started introducing offers to the market, with lots of golf gear available at reduced prices. This isn't just on smaller brands you might not have heard of either, no, we have spotted good rangefinder deals on models from Bushnell, Garmin, Nikon and other big-hitters. Along with Black Friday on the 28th, there is also Cyber Monday on 1st December, which is another great opportunity to purchase gifts for Christmas, or for yourself.
How to choose the Best Golf Rangefinder
Accuracy
Accuracy is important - it's likely the main reason we're looking to purchase one of these rangefinders. Cheaper models off the likes of Amazon or eBay can be tempting given the price, but the reliability of the yardages they're telling you can be questionable. Cheaper models in this guide are more than adequate but can sometimes be a yard or two off, whereas the expensive models will likely be spot on. They can also incorporate slope into proceedings. If you want that sort of thing, it could be worth spending that little bit extra.
Battery Life
There is truly not many things worse than when you pull out your rangefinder midway through your round, press the button and no display pops up. Damn, it's out of battery...
We have found most rangefinders run on CR2 batteries which last 6-12 months, and are often rechargeable which is good value. Additionally you can also buy these on Amazon too.
Finally, make sure that the rangefinder you’re interested in doesn’t require an unusual type of battery that is expensive or difficult to source.
Range
Range shouldn't matter too much on the golf course - we doubt you'll need a specific yardage for something over 300 yards away. However, if you need a rangefinder for another sport or hobby like birdwatching or hunting, this is worth keeping in mind.
Display
How clear is the display and how easy is it to read? Ultimately because we have tested most rangefinders on the market we think we can give good insight here with some models offering outstandingly clear visuals. There are also several other models on this list that have good displays so be sure to have a read of our in-depth reviews as well. Ultimately a good model should have clear, bright optics, magnification, and an easy to read display when contrasted with the background.
Slope
Do you want your model to offer slope measurements too? If so check out the technical specifications of certain models. Always be careful here though, because if a model is not clear on whether it is in slope mode or not, if you use it in competition you could be in trouble.
Waterproofing
A quality model should perform consistently in both sun and rain, making robust waterproofing a critical feature. We strongly advise researching which rangefinders offer full waterproof protection versus those that are only water-resistant, as this difference is significant, particularly if you frequently play golf in wet conditions.
Convenience
When it comes to convenience, a rangefinder must be quick and intuitive. The ideal process is simple: take it out, measure the flag, put it away. A complicated or slow laser defeats the purpose, adding time instead of saving it. To ensure a good fit, we often recommend testing different models at retailers and pro shops.
Looks
Admittedly this is not as important as other factors we mentioned above, but at the end of the day you should like the look of your rangefinder as well because nobody wants some big, bulky, ugly thing attached to the bag right? As such there are loads of different designs and cool finishes out there ranging from the ultra-premium (Voice Caddie SL2) to the more simple designs like the TecTecTec KLYR. Of course there are lots of different colors to choose from as well.
Budget
Be aware of how much you are willing to spend on a laser because there are good models at every price point these days. For example the Inesis 900 is one of the cheapest on this guide and we thought it offered excellent performance, whereas if you want to spend more and go towards the premium end of the spectrum, you can also do that with models like the Garmin Approach Z82.
Where to find the best deals
In the US, some of the best golf retailers include PGA TOUR Superstore, Rock Bottom Golf, Walmart and, of course, Amazon. In the UK, the best golf retailers include Scottsdale Golf, American Golf, Sports Direct and Amazon.
Amazon can be tricky to navigate (check out our best Amazon Black Friday golf deals) but they're a fantastic retailer for golf watches, lasers and balls in particular. Other retailers to keep an eye on are the brands themselves so Nike, adidas , Puma and Under Armour.
