Best Amazon Prime Day mattress deals from Simba, Silentnight and more

Getting decent shut-eye is one of the best things you can do to safeguard your physical and mental health, and wellbeing but many of us struggle every night to count our 40 winks.

If you suspect that your mattress may be the culprit behind your run of restless nights, help is at hand this July thanks to internet giant Amazon. This month sees the return of its famous two-day sale. Here’s everything you need to know about the bargain bonanza event - including the best mattress deals to bag.

When is Amazon Prime Day 2022?

It all kicks off at one minute past midnight on July 12 and will run until 23.59 the following day, on July 13. In 48 hours, you’ll see some of the best deals, promotions and prices to make your precious cash stretch that bit further.

Do you need a Prime account to get the deals?

Amazon started the sale as a way to treat its Prime customers, and it’s a tradition that’s stuck. You need to be signed up for Amazon Prime membership if you want to take advantage of all the epic deals in the sale.

Costing £79 for an annual pass or £7.99 monthly, membership gives you so much more than priority delivery. We’re talking access to the very best of the Amazon universe, from movies and TV content, including Amazon Originals, to music, books and Fresh grocery deliveries. If you’re a student, you can claim membership for even less at £3.99 a month.

If you’re not sure whether to take the plunge, Amazon offers a 30-day free trial which makes it perfect for seeing whether it’s a good fit for you, commitment-free.

What type of Prime Day deals are available?

Aside from the event-long deals running from  July 12 to 13, there are two other types of deals to make note of.

Daily deals, or Deals of the Day, will span around 24 hours or until stock runs out. Meanwhile, there will also be flash sales on products, known as Lightning Deals. They’re short, sharp with exciting prices but you need to be quick off the mark if you see something you want. Chances are, someone else will have spotted it too so they’ll be in high demand.

Luckily at ES Best HQ, we’ll be running a live blog letting you know when top products and deals go on sale, so make sure you bookmark our page and keep an eye on it through the Prime Day sale.

What deals on mattresses were there last year?

As well as huge savings across tech, fashion, beauty, and garden furniture, the retail giant will likely slash the prices of a whole host of pocket spring, memory foam and hybrid mattresses. These beds typically hit triple figures, but a mattress may be the most important thing you own. A poor sleep environment can leave you cranky and unfocused, and puts you at more risk of obesity. That’s why it’s never been so important to invest as much as you comfortably can in a bed that leaves you rested and refreshed when your morning alarm sounds.

In 2021’s event, prices plummeted on big names like Emma, Simba and Silentnight. We saw great offers not only on mattresses, but on mattress toppers, duvets, pillows and bed frames as well, giving Prime shoppers a great chance to totally overhaul their bedroom.

What deals can we expect this year?

If you’re in the market for a new mattress, Prime Day is the best time to pick one up. Last year there were discounts of up to 48 per cent on some models - that’s almost half off! All our intel is pointing to this year being the biggest and best even yet, so mark your diary.
